Faith in Leadership: Applicant Criteria
Successful candidates will be around 25 to 35 years of age.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- A desire to take on a leadership role within a faith context, whether as a lay leader or member of the clergy or in some other capacity
- A sustained commitment to your faith, including active involvement in a place of worship and/or interfaith work and/or social action in a faith context
- Openness to the ideas and beliefs of others, and a willingness to learn from and work with those of other faiths and backgrounds
- A commitment to the role of faith in building social cohesion
- The ability to learn both as individuals and as part of a group
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent listening skills
- A capacity to respect differences
- A willingness to make mistakes and learn from them
- The ability to see the connections between self-awareness, leadership development and community action
It would also be desirable if you can demonstrate:
- The ability to take on leadership roles in a faith and/or other context
- Good reasoning skills and the ability to inspire others through thought, word and/or deed
- The ability to think laterally
- The willingness to think beyond your own passions and empathise with others
- An interest in working with young people and making a difference to future generations
- A commitment to volunteering
- Effectiveness in working together with people of other faiths
- A commitment to professionalism
- The desire to be a more effective leader by increasing self-awareness
